eva trips, alex scores

8:33 We meet Eva Miller, who Seacrest says embodies "attitude." I sense a rejection and subsequent bitterness.

She sings some Vanessa Carlton, off-key and skipping around the stage. Her paper audition number falls midway through and she slips on it in a clearly staged fall. She asks if she can keep singing, and the judges say yes.

Simon: "This is an act, right?"

Eva vows it's not, and thus begins an emotional plea that also involves her crush on Simon. They hug, but she still gets rejected and tears up her audition number. Guess I was right after all.

8:36 Time for Alexandrea Lushington! I interviewed her! We only get a brief taste of her take on "My Funny Valentine," but it still sounds really good. Three-way yes for Hollywood, naturally.

do you think that eva actually thought she was any good? I am thinking that they should screen people like that. does absolutely everyone who shows up get to audition in front of the three judges??

You know what I thought was interesting about this audition was that, yes, the fall looked so completely staged, but when Simon asked her "is this a joke?" she immediately assumed he was talking about her falling. Not her singing or "dancing." Not only that, but she wasn't even really embarrassed about the fall and just stood up and started singing again like she'd not even done it. She's a good liar, though, because she didn't crack a smile when they were accusing her of acting.

Yeah and why was she shown wearing a yellow top during some clips but then black and white lateR? Did they have to wait for more than one day in line??
