Me: Again, Barry Gibb sings her praises, and this time it seems slightly more justified. Probably one of the strongest performances of the night. Still, it seemed almost too mature and too solemn for the overall feel of the night. Comparatively, though, this performance stands out. The ending was strong, but the beginning and middle suffered from some serious pitch problems. I didn't totally hate it, though. And the audience seemed to like it. But I doubt it would have the same effect had Melinda been stronger tonight.
Randy: "It was pitchy."
Paula: "It was not...you know, my dear. I love you anyway."
Simon: "I thought it was old-fashioned and actually very pageanty."
