I guess bad things come in threes.
Katharine McPhee, AI's fifth-season runner-up, has been dropped from her record label, articles like this one confirm.
She joins AI alums Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard in getting the boot.
Think she'll focus entirely on acting/modeling now?
I think it's funny that both Taylor and Kat, season five's respective winner and runner-up, have been dropped when so many of their same-season counterparts are thriving. Kellie Pickler. Chris Daughtry. Elliot Yamin. OK, maybe that's all of them, but you get the picture.
That season more than any other now seems to illustrate how off the public's vote can be.
Looking back, what do you think happened?

the vote deals with more than their vocal talent. it's their tv persona, however that's perceived by the public.
but when it comes down to buying a cd, it's just about the sound they make.
Sorry Shay to disagree. It's nothing to do with their persona either.
American Idol Powers had picked Daughtry to win. When he didn't they put every bit of their money into promoting Daughtrys career over the others Katharine and Taylor. Consequently those people received as litttle promo as they could get away with and Daughtry got the millions spent on him.
