Hmm. Another "Idol Gives Back" promo. I can't believe I'm going to have to sit through that show next week. OK, I got a little emotional about that little girl looking for her sister, though.
Dolly Parton performance. She actually sounds kind of weird. I thing something's off with the sound. Maybe.
And more importantly, what is up with her outfit?
This song -- "Jesus and Gravity" -- was way too much of a religious experience for me. Can we please go back to hurting peoples' feelings?
Just caught Jordin Sparks in the audience. After last week's show, she and Chris Brown reportedly recorded a performance that will air on AI next week.

that song was definitely a stretch for this show.. interesting choice. separation between church and idol perhaps?
Why is it that people have to always come up with this "separation of church and whatever?" People dedicated to God are just as much human as anyone and have as much right to sing about that part of their life. If the Beatles can sing about all these experiences they have had, which in Christian circles is called "new Age" and makes is opposed to Christianity, why can't Dolly sing about Jesus, on Whom she has relied all her life? I say we need more of the mention of God as well as a more positive side to country. I was glad to hear David Archuleta sing about Him, as well as Jason Castro, who is a great Christian young man, too. You'll be hearing the positive from Phil, as well, FYI. I don't go for all the drinking, cheating, and such, and I'm glad to hear what is good in life sung about.

cfphilfan, I agree with you about people having a right to sing about what they care about. I mean, no one would get upset if someone sung about how important conserving the environment was to them, and to some, I think THAT'S become a religion.
The "separation of church and state" was written into the constitution to protect the CHURCH from the government, not to protect the government from the church. It was so that the president/Congress/courts couldn't dictate whom we were to worship, as the king of England had been doing for centuries.
Separation of church and idol? Give me a break.
Not a big fan of Jordin Sparks. I could do without the hasbeens of the show coming back (even though I guess she's doing rather well for herself) and performing. I'd rather see "real" artists out there. I guess that's what "Idol Gives Back" is for (or is it to save lives in Darfur? I get confused).
