What a night. Honestly, I was expecting country night to be more of a disaster, but most of the contestants delivered.
The majority of odd moments came courtesy of the judges, rather than the contstants. What did you think of Simon's criticism of Carly's wardrobe? Paula's repeated use of "glorious"? Kristy Lee's decision to talk back to Simon?

Although it's fairly obvious that Simon is not a big fan of country music (to the point that Ryan zereod in on the fact quite early), I still think he made some good observations. I wish Dolly had actually offered more constructive criticism to the performers rather than (at least from what we saw) listening to them sing, hugging them, and making a generic comment.
Kristy Lee did good enough to solidify her place in the competition, but you need to learn--being perceived as any kind of a smart-@ss towards the judges will not help you!
Completely agree with your ranking. I am sick and tired of Archuleta getting such high praise every time. He needs to enunciate.

I think the purpose of the celebrity coach isn't to criticize, it's to make the contestants look good and to promote the genre of music.
And to give props to the show for being able to lure them on.

Carly's wardrobe was fairly atrocious. But Simon was a bit harsh. And I don't understand why he thinks he has the right to talk about fashion when he doesn't own more than two shirts. He could at least try white. Or a color.
