She has a good voice, though it's not as good as I expected. It's big, but actually a little forgettable. Simon gives her a no, while Paula and Randy appear a little hesitant.
Awkward moment...quote from Paula: "I have a feeling you have a lot of different sounds that come out of you." Especially when she's in McDonald's, I'm sure.
That moment aside, Paula and Randy both go for the yes and she's off to Hollywood.
8:26 We meet Alesha, a baby-voiced blond from California. She tries to sing Celine Dion, but predictably it's whiny and off-pitch. Simon and Randy hate it, but Paula suggests she sing another song. Which begins a discussion about song choice. Then the judges give her a challenge: Find a Dolly Parton song, learn it and come back. Seacrest is all over the Dolly Parton, by the way.

I think if you've been on -- much less won -- another reality show contest they should at least mention it!
