Note to contestants: Never sing a song that even remotely suggests you are happy to be in this competition and secure in your future.
Such was the case with Leslie tonight, who got the boot after much inferior singers (say, um, Antonella) received the OK. Concidentially, she, like eliminated singer AJ Tabaldo also sang "Feeling Good" this week.
It was narrowed to her and Jordin Sparks, and Jordin started bawling once Leslie got news of her elimination. This info, of course, is courtesy of an insider watching the show in Atlanta, as my TV remains full of static in the weather alerts' aftermath.
So Leslie performed "Feeling Good" one more time -- without a doubt the last time we'll hear it this season -- and bid us farewell, inserting a brief quasi-monologue in the part of the song where she originally scatted.
And that was that. Feeling sad. :(
