Surprisingly, even on the day after, there's not too much outcry about Chris Sligh's departure. My thoughts remain the same as well. At first, I saw Chris as this season's Taylor, and I think he got a pretty devoted following after he made his initial wisecrack about pursuing Idoldom solely for the purpose of making David Hasselhoff cry.
But it didn't take long for even the most avid Fro Patro supporters to learn Chris didn't have the wall-bouncing energy, or merely the crowd interaction, that drove Taylor's success last season. Moreover, perhaps in an effort to avoid another Taylor type at the top, producers simply didn't market Chris well. At first, his humor was everywhere...we could count on constant fat suit puns and jokes about having Paula in his chubby little palm. But, shortly after we hit the Top 12, that side of Chris was virtually extinct.
Personality issues aside, Chris to a large extent just wasn't talented. Make no mistake...he's notches above Sanjaya. But what Sanjaya has that Chris doesn't is energy. He sports mohawks and doesn't lose his breath on stage. Yeah, we know Sanjaya deserves to go home, but he's fun to watch. And unpredictable. Chris had those traits, lost them, and consequently went home.
At least he still has a really hot wife. Comments?

Chris Sligh was so much more talented than Chris Richardson and Blake. I know they're your favorites, but everyone knows that CR can't sing without his nose, and I'm convinced Blake always picks melodyless songs because he can't sing, either. I guess I'm going to have to stop watching the show now.
