swimsuits and gospel

8:01 Luke Reeder is our first bad singer of the night. In a hunting cap. Singing a bad heavy metal take on "Faith." Denied.

8:02 We meet Amy Davis, a girl who describes her family as "lower than lower middle class." But they're still not lower class, right? So I don't get what the big deal is. Anyway, I think I read that this girl was a professional model or something. Time out for a quick Google search. Wow, the results are startling. Not only was she a professional model, she also sang in a band with 2 members of Survivor and was a second-round qualifier for "Nashville Star." See full article here.

Naturally, she sings well and gets a three-way yes.

8:04 Time for Tiffany. Ryan describes her voice as "a gift from God." This is going to turn out badly. Looks like I'm right. We learn she's way monotone before she even approaches the judges. She pulls out some gospel...awfully. Referring to Tiffany's claim that God gave her that voice, Simon asks, "Does he have a return policy?" Big no.

That Tiffany girl was severely tone deaf. But she was cute and sweet even when they were so rude to her. Props to people like that
