syesha fever

Next in the contestant's choice round is Syesha.

Song: "Fever"

Me: Not exactly the best way for Syesha to separate herself from the Broadway-bound designation. She sings well, but the song relies too heavily on theatrics, as illustrated by the chair she dances around in the middle of the stage. (Not for lap dance purposes, unfortunately.) While the song doesn't have too many flaws vocally, it in the end illustrates that we're watching a singer not fit for the world of pop music.

Randy: "A very interesting song choice at this point."

Paula: "I'm surprised you picked this song...I'm not sure it shows me who Syesha is as an artist."

Simon: "I think you will probably regret that decision tomorrow."
