final thoughts. for now.

So Jordin won.

I'm very devastated right now. OK, not really. I think I kind of knew this would happen the instant I heard Blake utter a song lyric that included a phrase like "surrounded by love." Not an incredibly shocking finale, but I still kind of wish Blake would have taken the prize.

But the outcome isn't horrible. Things could have been worse. And the real telling sign, I guess, will come in record sales.

OK, I'm dropping the mic for tonight. What did you think? Are you happy with the outcome? What about your overall impressions of the seasons? Think there's any truth to the rumors that Blake threw Tuesday's finale?

I cannot believe that more people don't seem to understand WHY 'Jordin' 'won'...Of course, I KNEW she WOULD, but unlike most posters who falsely believe it was something Blake did wrong, or that MORE people voted for Jordin, etc., all of that is BALONEY! NOW HEAR THIS...As awful as this might sound to some, it is the TRUTH. Last year a WHITE person won, so THIS YEAR, well, there you go! It had nothing whatsoever to do with the vote tally, as the 'WINNER' was decided WEEKS ago. It doesn't matter that Blake was the more talented of the two, or the number of votes he received...The very FUTURE of American Idol depended on the contest going to Jordin Sparks! In other words, had she NOT 'won', there is a VERY STRONG possibility that the show would have been canceled because of all of the bickering and LAW SUITS about BLACKS being DELIBERATELY shut out! Yes, I know, all of that SOUNDS terrible, and I WISH it weren't true, but it most assuredly IS!

Guess you can't say "I told you so" after all...its everyone else that gets to tell you lol...must say you sounded much more like a Blake groupie than reporter, or even attempting to appear somewhat neutral in your lusting over Blake....there was no doubt the better singer won. Although Blake is talented, to be fair, he shouldn't have even been in the final two...but in reflection, I think Blake, Jordin, Melinda, and LaKeisha will all see successful careers, as well as...going out on a limb for a forgotten member, but Stephanie could be the surpirse out of this group. I think she was eliminated much too early because of the Sanjaya/Vote for the Worst debacle.

Rename the Blog "American Idol:Conspiracy Theory" because y'all are out there lol. Blake threw the competition, huh? LOL then, if so, he's thrown it all along because he was never the better singer, it was the entertainment and the beatbox, and the girls thinking he's hot that got him this far.
Then, the poster that thinks it's because a white person won last year, then a black has to win this year is even more ridiculous. I'm sure Elvis must have posted that one from a spaceship!
First, if a "black" had to win, it would have been Melinda, no doubt....in case you didn't notice, Jordin is actually mixed, with a black Father and white mother.
Blake didn't lose because he was white...he lost because jordin was the better singer.....and Jordin didn't win because she was mixed, or black, or female, or young, or any other reason in the world except that she was the better singer.
This really isn't hard, people....give up the conspiracy theories and move on with your life!

I think we all knew Jordin was going to win. She sums up what the "American Idol" is: young, attractive, bubbly, good singer who doesn't push boundaries... That is what comes out of a show like American Idol. Blake was too ahead of the game. But hey, you know he'll get a record deal out of it.

how come it's the anonymous people who say the most idiotic things? oh yeah. because they're too scared to put a name to their blatant racism.

also, since when is a blog supposed to be neutral?

who are these commenters, and how do i elbow them in the face?

anyway, i'd still have sex with carrie underwood. twice.

lisa mc...Why don't you STFU? So in other words, if something mentions RACE, it is automatically devoid of merit, right? Moron...You, just like most others nowadays, are so damn BRAINWASHED with this 'PC' bullschidt, you can't see an inch past your flared nose...I told the UNSPOKEN, UNMENTIONABLE truth, and if you don't like it, then move along, Jesse! It's just like I said...Last year, an obnoxious, grey-headed blowhard won the AI title, so THIS year there was never any doubt that a BLACK person would 'win'...And of COURSE they chose 'JORDIN' over MELINDA, because the record company wanted to make 'SOMETHING' out of the deal! (Gospel music doesn't make platinum selling CDs!) If they hadn't handed it to Sparks, (or SOME Black) Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would have called for Blacks to BOYCOTT American Idol for being 'UNFAIR' to Blacks, and if you can't SEE that, then perhaps you should remove your head from your keister, and open your eyes!

whoa whoa whoa. there's some obviously strong feelings here. I say we should let go of the conspiracy theories. If they had any merit, wouldn't producers have held on to that asian guy from the top 24 (the barefoot one), and perhaps let fewer white people on in favor of some indians or blacks (like sanjaya's sister!) Jordin won because she won.
