IDOL GIVES BACK.

Coming from Africa, I can catagorically state that all the drama about Mosquito nets will not help them. THey need EDUCATION. Why don't America and Britain build schools?? they need to be educated to know how to deal with what they've got left. I know, having lived and worked with the poverty stricken, aids ridden africans.

It drives me insane to see so much money going to a well meaning cause, but it's not going to go far in the long run. These people are starved of knowledge and don't know any better than how to cook a mielie. They know nothing about sanitation, health, disease prevention, etc...which is why they are dying so rapidly from AIDS. They really need schools and education. Please, put your money into brick and mortar and teachers. That will sustain and go a long way to ensuring their long term existence and happiness.

IDOL GIVES BACK CONTINUED...

Further to my comment. I must just say that the African people will eventually use the mosquito nets as football nets because they don't know or understand exactly how they will 'prevent' malaria (which they won't). These people live in malaria country and have done for centuries. the mosquito nets will help but has anyone done an educational talk on how they work, why they work, and how they should be used? what happens when the child walks around at night without long sleeves on and gets bitten by the malaria mosquito? mosquito repellent would work too.

Mosquitos are rampant in these parts of Africa and unless these people are educated, nothing is going to help them. Please think about it.
