can't hurry talent

Wow. It's already Top 12 time. Sorry for my failure to offer my take on the order of eliminations Monday, but I'll state right now that my first pick to go home is Haley Scarnato. There you go.
Anyway, with the obligatory Seacrest fanfare, we've learned it's Diana Ross night. We just got a shot of her mentoring the Top 12 while sporting her signature curly fro earlier this week. Apparently both Sanjaya and Chris Sligh decided to imitate that style tonight. Not good. Not good at all.
Finally...it's 8:10 on the dot and we just got our first contestant, Brandon Rogers, who allegedly grew up on "Can't Hurry Love." Um, yeah...maybe the Dixie Chicks and Phil Collins versions. That song was so 1966.

1. Brandon Rogers
Song: "Can't Hurry Love"
Me: Wow. What a surprise. This performance is like everything else of Brandon's we've seen this season. Boring and predictable. He's not a "bad" singer, he's just nothing different from any other Brian McKnight wannabe. WHOA. News flash...he just seriously forgot the words. We're talking long hesitation and the obligatory chuckle. I miss Sundance Head already.
Randy: "The last two notes of the song you sounded like you wanted to be in front."
Paula: "There are many things that you do right."
Simon: "That was a complete let down...The dancing was terrible...You came over as a background singer for a background singer."
Score: 4/10
