remember her?

There's still another two hours until tonight's pop-themed episode of AI, but that doesn't mean the cyber universe isn't devoid of "Idol" gossip.

The biggest item of note concerns the photos booted contestant Alaina Alexander recently posted on her MySpace Music page. The one above is probably the tamest of the bunch, kind of. It'll cause a little bit of buzz, but I doubt the fiasco will do anything to help or hurt Alaina's struggling music career...even though her site does offer a vast collection of "greatest hits." This season has already had its obligatory photo scandal, and Alaina missed that boat. Looks like she might have to succumb to her worst fear and -- gasp! -- go to college after all. At any rate, if you want more on this one, click here.

Next...in a brush of good news for viewers who love extended product placement and group songs -- read: nobody -- AI producers have announced that the Wednesday night results show will expand to an hour beginning in April. Great. Throw in an extra cheesy Ford commercial or Coca-Cola reference and I'll be in heaven. Read more here.

Finally, everyone's wondering if tonight could be Sanjaya's time to go. Which, of course, is entirely different from the speculation that's surrounded previous weeks. I doubt Sanjaya will be leaving, though. If anything, last week's creepy performance only fueled his already inexplicable momentum.

My bet is still on Phil Stacey. I have a sneaking suspicion his cancer patient hat is ready for a serious comeback.
